"How fuckin’ sad is it that y’stuck like this? Can’t do nothin’ ‘bout anythin’. Y’know, it’s kinda pathetic, darlin’.” The chuckle turned into a low growl as she stepped to him, grasping his chin tightly and forcing him to look to her. “And I told ya not t’go messin’ ‘round with my plants! I told ya they’re for m’spells! Now look what y’got y’self into...Y’absolutely distustin’.”

The words came as a hiss before she let go, only to immediately deliver a blow across the Earl’s cheek, claws leaving light but stinging scratches.

The boy’s voice broke through the ringing in her ears, drawing her attention to him despite the unbearable pain through her stomach, and the blade. Red blood ran down her chin and onto her chest, some already beginning to dry and become sticky. “D-darling, I can’t–” Her words were cut off by a guttural cough, more blood spitting from her lips.

“You know j-just as well…just as well as I-I that it’s near..it’s impossible…” It took everything to choke out the words, which were hardly audible anyways. She couldn’t move, couldn’t hold him, couldn’t save herself. All she could do was lay there and bleed, and pray for a miracle.

An odd thing for a demon to pray for….
