Room! What do you think about Gabriel Mann being cast as Ilya Koslov in Rassvett?

That there was a time when our Red was called Ilya (= Elijah or Elias). Could be another fake name if he was KGB, could be his real one. He could have immigrated or been born to immigrant parents. There’s just not much to go on yet. But ever since Red talked about his mother, there has been a lot of speculation that he has Russian ties + he keeps referring to the US government as “your government” whenever he talks to Liz.

76. what’s your favorite potato food (i.e. tater tots, baked potatoes, fries, chips, etc.)?This questions was MADE for me because there was a time when my friends literally called me potato girl because of my love for God’s precious golden earth nuggets. I love them in all forms but my two favourite would be a) baked wedges with some fresh rosemary and a light joghurt dip; and b) my mother’s home-made potato dumplings but since we don’t live together anymore I only ever have the pleasure of eating them for Christmas nowadays.

Do you think Ilya could’ve been an agent himself? I mean it’s kinda hard to believe a mere embassy desk boy (civilian) is that proficient at handling a gun, has superb accuracy & can pinpoint his enemy’s location easily. I know Katarina was probably the one who introduced him to Dr Koehler (Idk which episode, but from what I read, she arranged his appointment), but how did he know that he could literally become Reddington? Feels like Dom only served us a small appetiser to his background.

oh Ilya/Red was def an agent. A desk job at an embassy is standard cover for foreign operatives, and I think that’s what we are dealing w/ here, too. I’m not sure what exactly his assignment was – intel gathering, handler for US assets?? – but as you say, he seemed v comfortable and capable out in the field, so he def received a thorough training. He said he used to have a relatively normal life before he lost everything, which meshes w/ the life of an operative w/ a civilian cover. And since he was in tradecraft, I’m sure he was aware of the possibilities re, identity switch and everything that entails, including surgery options. But we only scratched the surface w/ “Rassvet”, I completely agree.

18. For the aesthetic, for the laughs, or for the feels what your preference

all of those things tbh, depends on what I’m giffing. the aesthetic is always important, almost all James sets are for the thirst, and most Lizzington sets are for the feels

27. Have you ever made a set, decided you hated it and deleted it? What was it

well not hated but I do have some sets in my drafts that I wasn’t completely happy with and so I never posted them. but I’m kinda tempted to post them now tbh

41. What is your least favorite part about your gif making process

sifting through screencaps (windows explorer is slow as hell) and the worst part is of course going to save the finished gif but it’s 6mb and then I have to figure out what to do to make it less than 3mb
