Happier Times - Sacred Game of the Gods

"I was such a broken, ugly thing. They helped to put me back together."

From the past part of my AU YGO Fanfic series; Bakura and his daughter Asenath showing off one of the first treasures he'd ever stolen. He's early-mid 20's here and still rocking his iconic robe even if his duties have changed drastically (also plenty of time to grow out that hair!). And 2nd pic is Bakura and his whole family including the concubine he took to have his daughter. His consorts name is Mer-tbeka or Beka for short. Beka has another position aside from Royal Consort and thats Royal Diplomat, Envoy and Greeter. He is the first to receive esteemed guests and also acts as a first encounter to gauge guest personalities so he can inform Bakura on how best to NOT insult potential allies. Being the King of a nation and not of thieves is a completely different ball game. Sacred Game of the Gods on Ao3 is in the midst of an update. Chps 1-11 have been reposted and others remain to be updated so certain names and terms may be confusing if you start reading past 1-11. :'> all art done by @okazaki-jian \ @okazaki-trash! (ᵕ—ᴗ—) He is a really great dad though! Another Comm I got from the lovely @okazaki-jian | @okazaki-trash for the past part of my Child of Chaos series! (ㅅ´ ˘ `) The pose was one of a small handful that Okazaki initially gave me as a sample before I had this first piece done earlier. I decided to revisit the pose and add the whole fam including Bakura's male consort; Beka and his female concubine who I don't have a name for yet.. =v= (Still plenty of time to come up with one but also open to suggestions!) A fun lil detail is Beka has on one of Bakura's bracelets. ( ⸝⸝´꒳`⸝⸝) A great addition by Okazaki! I have a few more Child of Chaos related comms that we're going back and forth on too! Love working with Okazaki and I can't wait to show more! 〜⁠(⁠꒪⁠꒳⁠꒪⁠)⁠〜 Potential spoilers below for Child of Chaos to explain the history of how this group came together:

In the Child of Chaos universe, TKB was picked up by a master thief and his group and brought back to a secretive thriving community where he befriended Mer-tbeka (Beka for short. His name means 'Glad for the dawn".) Beka eventually became Bakura's lover and when he ascended the throne of Egypt, Bakura's consort. However they couldn't produce an heir. His advisors pushed him to have a child incase something happened to him. (cause Atem never had children before Bakura killed him and pretty much made his royal line extinct because of it.) So Bakura took on a concubine who came from the clan that would eventually become the Tomb Keepers. She do got that resting bitch face some Ishtar's are known for. (˵ ¬ᴗ¬˵)

It Could Have Been Worse

"Enlighten me, Mery, how could be any worse?"

"It could have been a Hippo's head. Keh-Keh-Keh."

"That master of yours is going to walking himself on out into the desert if he comes up with anymore of these ridiculous crown designs."

"He's your uncle. Besides your coronation is tomorrow. You need to wear something."

"At this point your hat looks more like a real crown then this abomination."

"Keh-keh-keh."

"Shut up and tell my uncle I'm done with this. If he wants to design a crown for me fine. But no more crocodile heads, and no falcon heads or snake heads...or heads of any kind."

And so he got a crown with a giant eye ball and wings.

Sorry if this kinda sucks, I just sort of thought of it real quick and thought I'd throw it out there cause casteswapped hasn't updated in a while.

It's basically me telling myself the crown design I hate so much could have been much worse. So could Mery's hat.

His face tingled from where a damp object had once laid upon it. It's impression told Bakura that it was now missing. A few stray hairs clung to the moisture on his forehead. Bakura took a breath feeling a hand come away from his own. Through blurry eyes he could see a familiar figure sitting beside him.

"Abasi...?" A smile parted the vizier's face. All at once it came back to him, the ravine, the ghosty figure garbed in gold, Mery half dragging him back to the city. Bakura let out a groan, "Oh gods...tell me Mery didn't let me pass out in front of the court."

"No, your majesty." Abasi had a warm humored voice. "You managed to make it down the back hallway. Mery and I carried you the rest of the way. No other witnesses."

"Thanks the gods for that."
