Hazbin Hotel: Phase Au
This is an idea that I came up with while talking with my friend @ordinaryschmuck.
In this AU, Charlie and her family are MUCH closer to the idea of "rulers of Hell" then in Canon. Due to their time being exposed to the energies of Hell, her parents developed naturally sadistic and violence desires, gaining a natural enjoyment and desire of the pain and suffering of others. Both Lilith and Lucifer saw sinners as vermin, garbage, COCKROACHES scrambling among the scraps of Hell, who were thrown down into their kingdom and actively made it worse with their drugs and violence and cruelty. So, THEY showed them cruelty and pain in kind. And they raised Charlie to be the same way. In the past, she was merciless and cruel to sinners, even EATING sinner flesh in some Cannibal communities. But, around the time the exterminations started and her mother dissappear an incident happened that made Charlie.....change. She began to rethink things about sinners, about the people of Hell. To not WANT to be like her parents. While she DID still have her desires for bloodshed and pain and misery, she forced it down as she worked to remake herself. Lucifer simply waved it off as Charlie just going through a "phase" and she'd one day come back to roasting and eating sinner hearts over a campfire with him, but she vowed it wasn't. She focused on CHANGING.
She moved to Pentagram City because she knew how much her past would make Sinners who she had met or tormented in the past or just knew who she was distrustful of her. And she focused on opening her hotel. Wanting to make it a place for sinners to find redemption.....and for it to be a place of redemption for HER.
