Favorite thing about her:

She's such an enigma! No name VERY sparse but evocative backstory, dabbles in witchcraft (!!! Is it a holdover from her human life or a byproduct of living amongst wraiths and countless ancient tomes while suffering a revolving door of bosses?) She's made out of questions and her primary character trait is "long-suffering" and I'm here for it.

Least favorite thing:

Honestly while i Adore Kristen Schaal, the Guide has always felt more like a handy resource and lore conduit in a show that operates largely by rule of funny - popping in periodically to highlight how incompetent our vampires are. I'm what's elated to get (checks notes) A Second Woman in the main cast, I'm hoping for her to get more going on than "my entire job and role was a one-season plot and now I'm Round Two Of Pining In This House" y'know? she's got so much going on gimme new beats!!

Favorite canon relationship:

Do the wraiths count? Look we can talk all day about her one-sided crush on Nadja til the vow does cows come home (and we should, it physically hurts me, but I think we're exploring it a bit this season and I wanna see where it goes before Really speculating; long story short they should deffo kiss nadja has two hands) but I'm honestly obsessed with the wraiths as like, what an extension of her will as council steward in tune with her deepest feelings, but also unruly employees??

Favorite non-canon relationship:

Honestly I think she and Charmaine should be friends. Their Girls Nights would be legendary

This may be way too sad, but: I was re-reading Kids Who Chose Themselves today, and I started wondering what would have happened in the aftermath if Harry hadn't come back to life? (Not that he chose to leave, he never would have done that, but if he didn't get a choice). Who killed Voldemort? What would have changed?

Neville still kills the snake and pulls the sword from the Hat, a true Gryffindor and a not-quite-chosen-one, but I think in the aftermath of the death of Harry Potter I’d have wanted Ginny to finish the fight.

There are a lot of options here, of course-- McGonagall, brittle and furious and powerful; Hermione and Ron, who had come so far with him; Remus Lupin, the last Marauder. But there’s a special poetry to Ginny that I like. Harry is the Chosen One; Neville is the Chosen One Unchosen, but Ginny knows Tom best.

Voldemort didn’t choose Ginny, but coincidence did in that bookstore, and she carried him-- the diary in her pocket, his creeping poltergeist in her soul and his childish hands. And in a world where Harry dies to kill the bit of Voldemort living in his chest, I’d have loved to see Ginny kill Tom Riddle in the end. I’d like to see her close that circle-- she was not quite a Horcrux, but she was a vessel for a time. No scar on her forehead, but Voldemort left his mark on her, and I think for that-- and in this story, for Harry, too, and for the futures she was robbed of-- that kid is owed some blood.

Hey, so for those who signed up as conservative to vote for the least awful candidates, the ballots are on their way out now. Do you have any info on the latest recommendations for who is the least terrible? (who should we vote for?)

IMO the least terrible are Michael Chong and Lisa Raitt.

Polls show that Maxime Bernier is the overwhelming favourite. The only candidate that pollsters think could beat Bernier is Andrew Scheer.
