I finished this fanart back in early November but I was also writing a fic to go along with it.
Unfortunately the more I dwell on this specific fic the more unmotivated I've become, because it's so uninspiring 😂😂😂, like, the longer I wrote it, the more unnecessary it seemed, to the point I even had to do some extra research on school events, which just makes the whole thing collapsed on its own.
So I shortened the fic, super simplified version :
Enjoy! 😘❤️(even if it's bad lol)
Today, Megat, alongside four other classmates, is assigned school duties at Kudrat, tasked with repainting the school’s old, peeled walls. He was as ready as he'll ever be, the teacher said it, very clearly, without any hint of sarcasm.
"Nanti semua dapat markah bonus kurikulum, good for your resume"
By the time he arrived there with all the paint stuff, buckets, rollers, and brushes, the others have already ditched, leaving him stuck doing it all by himself.
Megat exclaimed, mumbling by himself, tapping his feet repeatedly.
"Biar betul, takkan aku nak buat sorang..."
With no juniors around to dump the work on, he grumbly picks up the brush, and pops the lid of paint bucket open.
Midway through the job, Reza, fresh from the photography club wanders by and spots him.
Reza's steps quickened towards Megat.
Megat is shirtless, paint streaked across his chest and arms, hunched over a bucket as he brushes thick streaks onto the chipped dorm wall. Splashes drip onto the floor, his pants, and the paint roller. The putrid smell of paint could be smelled from a mile away.
Reza leans against the doorway, camera in hand, eyes sparkling with amusement
"Shah, buat apa tu? Tak sangka buat kerja hari ni"
Amused, grinning and sensing a good shot, Reza starts taking photos of Megat covered in paint, with the clear expression of irritation and exhaustion.
"Aku jual keropok, nak ke?" Megat quipped, eyes still focused on the walls, barely giving Reza a glance.
"Apasal sorang - sorang ni?" Reza snickers, lens still glued to Megat.
“Our beloved teachers request”
Megat imitates their teacher voice, over-exaggerating every syllable.
"Tolong saya eh! nanti saya bagi extra point, saya kene balik awal!"
Megat slammed the roller down, crouched and gave an exasperated shake of his head.
"Semua sial, konon kate" nanti aku ambik air, jap""
He smear paint at the wall for emphasis.
Then grabbing an empty bucket and waving it around hand. "Haikal kate nanti dia ade idea, badak sumbu 'tul, semua mangkuk bertingkat, semua blah camtu je"
Reza peered behind his camera, smirking.
"Kau tengok nanti, and aku rembat semua point, pastu so Jali tu complain "cikgu kenape point saya loooow", Paja ko!"
Reza grins and laughs, savouring the moment.
The camera's continuous snap sounds only adds to Megat's frustration. He pauses, eye twitched, wiping his forehead.
Megat shot Reza a side-eye, then chuckled.
He glanced at all the paint spread out before him, a devious gleam appearing in his eyes.
Immediately, Megat springs to his feet, he pivots, and flicks the paintbrush towards Reza.
Reza docks just in time, laughing all the while.
What starts as irritation quickly turns into a spontaneous paint fight, paint splattering everywhere.
Megat grabs a nearby pipe with a hose attached, switches the lever and sprays toward Reza.
Reza dodge, keeping his camera elevated to keep it from being wet, but his prefect uniform is soaked.
He quickly rips off his jacket, grabs a soaked paintbrush, and fights back, slash move in repeat.
Megat swings the paint roller, aiming to coat Reza's whole face with it, but Reza never flinched, still snapping photos from every corner of the fight.
The tension melts into laughter as paint flies in every direction.
And during the thick of it all, Megat pulls Reza close, their cheeks touching as they both break into laughter. In that few seconds, Reza snaps one final photo, capturing them in mid-laughter, paint-stained, naturally unguarded.
The image freezes their moment of peace, where annoyance turns into warmth, and what started as delegated task becomes a moment to be free.
Reza's already planning to put all these shots in his private album.
