Even before thinking of "The Rape of the Lock", when dealing with Alexander Pope our minds should turn to his true masterpiece, the "grotto" he had in his garden. Here's a snapshot of the author while commissioning the work to the famous landscape architect, Lancelot "Capability" Brown.
