Poeticus or Pheasant’s Eye, is a tall dainty flat faced white petal Daffodil with a short teeny yellow and orange cup. The yellow has a green cast to it. A super pretty species.

Day 15 in 30 days of Daffodils on Forsythia Hill in Charlottesville, Virginia.  

Temp’s went down to 27 degrees last night. Yesterday I frantically picked a big bunch of Daffodils to save them from a freeze. This little outcrop of Daffodils was so pretty, I took a risk and let them stand. I felt a petal early this morning and it was crunchy ice. Sun has been shining on it for the last hour and it has thawed,  it seems ok but tonight its to get down to 22 degrees and not much is going to withstand that low of a temp. Such is the life of early Daffodils in Virginia
