hiii! your alcina and miranda sims are AMAZING 😭 i wanted to ask if you had any kind of advice on how to get their faces so accurate. i've trying to replicate a few characters on the sims but they always feel off + it feels like all the cc is made to create pretty girls while i'm trying to recreate hot middled aged woman and it ends up looking...weird? 😭 tyyy!
Hiiii, thank you so much <3 Honestly the biggest thing for me is focusing on what makes their face theirs and playing into those unique features. Like, for example when I was making Alcina, I paid more attention to things like the spacing between her nose and mouth, the width/shape of her lips, the size and shape of her nose and eyebrows, face shape, etc.. While I kinda ignored things like the shape of her eyes, lol because that's not as important, I think? So yeah, I find that by breaking down the face into size, shape, and spacing, it becomes easier to map their proportions instead of defaulting to the "pretty sim" look that cc can sometimes push you into.
For skin details/overlays, I use....... a LOT lmaoo. I literally have every single available skin detail/tattoo slot occupied. Sometimes I'll even stack the same detail 2-4 times just so it still shows through under a heavier skin overlay. That layering really helps give depth and allows me to pack a lot of detail into a face.
Oh, another thing! Don't be afraid to exaggerate a little—almost treat it like a caricature drawing. Like, if a character has a sharper nose or thinner lips than you'd usually give a sim, totally lean into it! It might feel extreme in CAS but once the sim is in the right outfit, in the right pose, with the right facial expression, or once they're in-game it usually comes together nicely.
So yeah! I'd say start with the proportions (size/spacing/shape), layer skin details like crazy lol, and embrace features that aren't conventionally "pretty". Also-also.... I only show the sims that I think look good.... so please don't think I never miss... I have a full gallery graveyard of cancelled wips and rejects lol
Here are some of the skin details I pretty much use across all my sims (from Karlach and Minthara all the way to Miranda Priestly and Lady D). Anyways lol, happy hot MILF-simming :)
