How can this happen?
I read a story about a mysterious death which occured back in 1982. A kind of asylum for teenage children named Elan School had a kind of boxing ring where the teenagers were beaten as a so-called therapeutic system.
That is very alternative use of the word therapeutic.
Now his family is asking what the boy died from. The offficial conclusion back then was done on a desk and the boys death was decleared natural.
But numerous witnesses saw how 15 year old Phill Williams got beaten and the beatings could very well have resulted in brain damage leading to his death.
Why wasn’t it investigated back then?
Properly because the State of Maine needed a dumping place for teenagers too expensive to treat professionally. Mental illnesses which would required treatment from expensive doctors and nurses could now be kept into place for a cheap price until the teenagers were old enough to end up in prison instead.
It does not only sound cruel. It was cruel.
