I come from seeing the Berlin Phil perform live and I believe it is a good moment to meditate about the way we live music. Today I saw an extraordinary orchestra, of extraordinary musicians, great virtuosos of their instrumenta, conducted by a first-class musician, acompanbied by a mindblowing soloist and with a fantastic programme. But the most impressive thing about this orchestra is how it’s not just a group of individual musicians that try to shine brighter than the person they’re sitting next to, this marvelous orchestra is one single instrument. every note seems to be produced by a single thing and all of the instrumentalists are a unity, there is an almost impossible presition in their entries, they work with love and they make the most beautiful music. In the Berlin Philharmonic they live to serve music, not music to serve them. ¡This is how one must do music! // Vengo de ver a la Filarmónica de Berlín y me parece un buen momento para hacer una reflexión de cómo vivimos la música. Hoy vi a una orquesta conformada de músicos extraordinarios, grandes virtuosos de sus instrumentos, dirigidos por un músico de primera, acompañados por una solista maravillosa y con un programa de gran nombre. Pero lo más impresionante de ésta orquesta es cómo no es una agrupación de músicos individuales que procuran brillar más que el de junto, ésta orquesta tan maravillosa es un sólo instrumento. Cada nota parece ser producida por una sola cosa y todos los instrumentistas son una unidad, hay una presición casi imposible en sus entradas, trabajan con amor y hacen música bellísima. En la Filarmónica de Berlín ellos están para servir a la música y no la música para servirles a ellos. ¡Así hay que hacer música!
