Philinda Appreciation Week || Day 7 - Free Day Philinda looking at each other. “His voice stopped and they looked for a long quiet moment into each other's eyes and between them lay the sunny lost youth that they had so unthinkingly shared.” -Margaret Mitchell One thing I've loved about Philinda is they way they wouldn't need words to convey what they want. They could just look into each other's eyes and let the intensity in them speak for the person. It's amazing to see how they can speak volumes without saying a word. Whether it's friendship,angst or even discussing what to do next while on a mission, they don't really need words.

Philinda Appreciation Week Day 6 || Alternate Universe Captain America and AoS crossover. When Melinda May's best friend and Partner Phil Coulson is chose to undergo a transformation into the Captain America, even after being apprehensive she encourages and supports him. Both of them confess their feelings for each other and promise to go on a date after everything is better. When Melinda next hears about Phil, it's the news that he has gone missing in action after his plane crashed and the search and rescue team couldn't find him. This incident turns Melinda May into the hard person who is known as Ice Queen by the people she works with. Her world turns upside down again 25 years later when It is revealed that Phil is alive and was found frozen in Ice. Even though he aged with time, his memories are stuck 25 years in the past. When he starts working with SHIELD and joins Melinda May's team, surprised to find how much his best friend and first love has changed, he decides to bring her back and slowly begins to breaks the walls she built around herself after Phil's death and tries to win her heart. Though it takes sometime, they rebuild their relationship and Melinda May who believes "there is no going back, there's only moving forward" decides that even though they can't rewind back, they could start afresh. Phil takes her on their first date after 25 years.

Melinda May as Inhuman in Bahrain AU

SHIELD has had their eye on Melinda May, a top spy with a specialised skill set, since the beginning of the year after footage of her performing some seemingly impossible feats. With the help of his team, Agent Phil Coulson has come to Bahrain to assess May’s abilities, and put her on the index.

But things don’t go to plan when undercover at a party for the rich and famous, Phil meets Melinda and begins to fall in love with her. Unknown to him, Melinda is aware that her cover has been blown, and gets close to Phil at the party for intel. But she’d be lying if she said that she didn’t feel something for him.

She spikes Phil’s drink so that she can slip away from Bahrain undetected. But for as long as she’s on the run, Phil will continue chasing her.

Day 5-Parallels

1x19 ‘We don’t do personal. Not anymore.’

2x19 ‘This...is personal.’

I decided that I didn’t want to make this about 2 scenes, but the overall Philinda arcs in s1 and s2 as a whole, and I felt that these two scenes helped show that (it was completely coincidental that they both happened to be the 19th episode of the season).

These two scenes best demonstrate the Philinda angst-the lies they told each other, and the secrets they kept from each other. In The Only Light in the Darkness, Coulson attacks May for not telling him about the TAHITI project, and for secretly reporting to Fury the whole time, whereas in The Dirty Half Dozen, May confronts Coulson for not telling her about Theta Protocol, and also for not saying he was seeing Andrew for help. Both of these are such personal issues for the two of them, no matter what they tell the other, in so far as anything that affects their relationship so much must become personal.

May had orders from the very top in s1, and in s2 Coulson was the very top, so in a professional capacity, these lies and secrets make sense, though I still believe that May should’ve been told about Theta Protocol, and I still believe she deserves real apologies for what happens in both seasons. May doesn’t hesitate to apologise to Coulson, but he’s not afraid to turn it into laying the blame on her. These two scenes are quite detrimental to their relationship, and as I’ve said before, in the future I hope that their relationship can be salvaged and strengthened so it doesn’t go to such lows again.

Philinda Appreciation Week Day 5 || Philinda Parellels

“Nostalgia Is Fine, But Then Life Happens” || Philinda making references to their pre AoS days, when they were partners.

One thing that I have really enjoyed as a Philinda shipper are the subtle references to their pre-AoS days that they make. It not only tells us more about these people but also as to how well they seem to know each other and understand each other. That is pretty amazing.
