Sure, this is the ex-Vieuxtemps Guarneri and that helps but this is just an absolutely blistering, jaw-dropping performance of Bloch's "Nigun".

One of the things I missed during my Dirt Nap Era was a bunch of stuff Philippe Quint did, including this:
I want to shout out the fact that he actually does play the Coitus Musicalis variation, which not everyone does because, y'know. LOL.
He's got a much more old-school flavor than Joshua, but there's significant overlap in their sensibilities (they've also played together), so it's neat to hear where and how they differ in performing this music.
Hot damn.
Happy Birthday to virtuoso violinist Philippe Quint! 2012 VIDEO INTERVIEW by Bob Andelman
PHILIPPE QUINT podcast excerpt: "I have great respect for the craft of acting. So when I was cast in Downtown Express, I took acting lessons with a wonderful teacher, Sondra Lee. She really trained me while the film was in pre-production. It was extremely beneficial.”
