(2 photos) Aurora brought many varieties of her saved seed to the seed swap on Saturday, including a Sicilian Rocket (Eruca sativa) that her Uncle Steven from Sicily shared with her. Craving flavors from home, he is dissatisfied with American vegetables, saying 'they don't taste right'. And about our Arugula (aka Rocket): 'that's not Arugula, THIS is Arugula'. This variety is very peppery and delicious. We had a lovely Philadelphia Seed Exchange seed swap after the Vacant Land 215 skill share today. Bri Barton brought a couple beautiful bags of beans, including this Hopi Grey “Maasi Hatiko” Lima (Phaseolus lunatis) she’s been growing at Fair Hill Burial Grounds here in Philly. She said (roughly): “This is the first seed I ever saved and I started saving them four years ago. It is delicious both geeen and as a soup bean, and is incredibly prolific.” She’s a bean seed fanatic.
