So, I’m in this band called Paid to Play. We’re throwing a benefit show for School House of Rock on the 24th. We’ve invited our friends from Phoenix to help make it a memorable night. Basically, SHOR recruits local musicians to teach kids on the spectrum how to play instruments the way they learned (because not everyone can learn in a classical environment). It means a lot to me because my brother and nephew are on the spectrum. If you’re down and happen to be in the Southern Arizona area, please join in. We love this place and what they do. $8 at the door. Donations are appreciated. No booze, illicit substances, fights, or bullshit.

LOCAL AZ PSA For those of you who weren’t aware, the lead singer of OPU (Tucson) is a predatory bastard. There have been suspicions for a while, but this is the first time someone has come forward with evidence. We don’t know if this is an isolated incident or just one of multiple. His name is Johnne Antonucci (35y/o) and the above is a message he sent to one of our (at the time) 16-year-old local kids a couple days after he physically accosted them at a show. The incident occurred last September, but the screen shots are just resurfacing now. The kid was scared to come forward because, on their first attempt to speak out to people, Johnne found out and gaslighted them about “being friends” and “how he was putting on a show”, then demanded the child issue an apology to his wife, who refused to hear it. (Whether she knows the specifics or he told her a different story is still unclear.) The kid asked to remain anonymous to those outside the situation for obvious reasons. There are a very few select scumbags who may or may not defend him. The kid knows the resurfacing will bring negative attention from him and is frightened they will have to defend themselves from Johnne (who has been known to be confrontational, especially when under the influence, which is frequent) and don’t want to have to deal with outside influences, as well. He plays shows in the Tucson and Phoenix all-ages scenes, but luckily hasn’t gotten too far past that. Do your part. Ban him. Push him out. Make him disappear. Make these kids inaccessible to him. Note: the nickname in this picture has been covered so that people are not able to speculate who the child is and it is ILLEGAL to release a child victim’s name without a guardian consent. Thank you
