Navy, what type of qualities do you think Stucky would value most with their captive wife?
Bucky and Steve want someone compassionate. Both have been through differing degrees of hell and showing sympathy and wanting to help others would certainly get their attention. Someone like that, they may try to say others would take advantage of you and your big heart. You're better off with them because they'll take care of you and you'll take care of them.
Going back a bit to the time where they're from, they would appreciate a clean home and food on the table. They take turns picking the meals and get you cute aprons to wear while you cook. If you're dolled up once it's time to eat, even better because you wanted to look pretty for them.
They also expect you to listen. They're in charge. If you break any of the rules set or try to run away, they'll have to punish you. You're not sure what's scarier at first, Steve's authoritative voice or Bucky's silence. It's for your own good though.
You'll learn to accept that in time.

the compound by aisling rawle
i heard "love island meet lord of the flies" and i was SAT. (however don't be fooled by the 'love island' -esque of the plot- it's very much a modern day dystopian book) it also kind of reminded me of survivor with the challenges to earn rewards, and the truman show a little bit
it was an addicting read and i appreciated the necessary commentary on consumerism/ materialism and disconnection from the worlds problems - it gave me chills. i wished we got to know little more of the outside world and the wars happening, but i'm assuming the details were intentionally vague.
