Did You Know? Shotgun Houses are said to be of Haitian Influence. In New Orleans, Chicago and many other cities across the U.S. have these style homes. They're said to be given their names because of the way the doors line up. One anecdote is if you have the front and back doors open then shoot a shotgun, the bullet will travel through both doors since they line up perfectly from opposite ends.
