Did You Know? Shotgun Houses are said to be of Haitian Influence. In New Orleans, Chicago and many other cities across the U.S. have these style homes. They're said to be given their names because of the way the doors line up. One anecdote is if you have the front and back doors open then shoot a shotgun, the bullet will travel through both doors since they line up perfectly from opposite ends.

Just like a rainbow, Haitian Gingerbread architecture as it is called, is painted with an array of color. . The architectural ornamentation attached are fine example of lace motifs, creating repetitive patterns and designs. . The color used in Haitian art and architecture are indicative of my use of color found in the Caribe collection. . Each color way was meticulously selected to embody the soul and character of the Caribbean. .
