Western Electric Type 500
i need to clean them still,, but do you know these guys? I think red is Western Electric, but that’s all i can guess.
Left and middle ones despite being retro simils are clearly inspired on a Western Electric type 302 (my phoneband [phone husband]) and a Western Electric Princess phone respectively. The right one is a Western Electric too indeed, a type 500 :]]
(love that springbonnie & miniature vanny too ngl ...)
Detail of a Western Electric Type 302 in an illustration of Leon Poch I'm not comfortable posting because it's just racist.
Did you ID the Mike phone from Deltarune yet?
Western Electric Type 500!!
Had never ID'd it specifically because I was always a little disappointed it's just the most popular phone model probably ever across everywhere, which makes it perfectly reasonable as something Spamton (and Tenna, whom I believe has the same copy) would own. Which is a very silly complaint to have about Deltarune like ugh Toby Fox didn't even give us some obscure and fun telephone to tie to the lore it's just a type 500 🙄 this is why DR isn't GOTY smfh (silly)
Found something fun and that is that the Socotel S63 (brown) isnt the only telephone with the little round ears; the Dutch PTT T65 (grey) does too. This will be good to remember when identifying phones since its a really stand out feature.
The Ericsson Dialog also seems to have similar sort of round ears but the thing is, Ericssons are SO easy to identify bc the things stand out like a sore thumb. They have so many little things like the square at the bottom and the silly dial like they're always similar but too different to your other brands.
Here's also a super cool article going into the history of the T65. I usually struggle reading articles but this one is very accessible and well formatted.
