I need to dig through my security settings again because now if I download a zip file from the internet, unzip it into a directory, and then try to add additional items to the new folder, my computer will flip out over how that folder is "unsafe" and I shouldn't use it.

Note that this doesn't happen if I take the contents of that folder out and put them in a different folder. The problem is the folder itself, not the files inside. It also doesn't happen if a program such as, for instance, MusicBee, accesses the contents of the folder. So if there was a problem this security setting would do absolutely nothing to protect me from it. It exists purely to annoy me

#im not going to stop downloading this sweet sweet free out of print music from archive dot org windows. you cant stop me!!!!#i do gotta be careful tho because there was this one album that i was gonna download and then on a whim i looked it up #and it is not in fact out of print #i mean TECHNICALLY #the version on archive dot org is the cassette tape version and you can buy a remastered digital download now #but ehhhhhhhh i think im not gonna split hairs like that #maybe i would like the cassette recordings better #at which point i would feel free to acquire them in that manner AFTER i had purchased the digital download #although on the other hand i was only going to download it because it was free #it wasnt bad but like i have so much music on my to be purchased list already #im not adding new stuff to it unless i have a real good reason #(want it for something specific)
