AG: Funny thing about tests. They always expect you to cheat but never really think outside the box. Someone always writes on a slip of paper to sneak in, doodles answers on their palms, or collaborate in some grand scheme to look off their neighbor's shoulder. It's all so BORING. And Vriska Serket was anything but boring. It was a few hours before the next big test and she was sitting under a tree in the commons on the first nice day of early winter in a week. The sun was out and it was reletively warm and she was busy with a set of standardized number two pencils and a small pen knife carving answers into the sides with meticulous detail.
CG: After another hour of cramming, Karkat's mind was as empty as it had been the previous day, if not worse, with scattered ideas that made no sense to him. he had just given up on the test, not like 20% of the total score meant a thing, or so he tried to make himself believe. After slamming his room's door with enough force to bother anyone who kept studying he went down, the way the day seemed so nice and good annoyed him more. He considered making a few notes on a paper, but it was too late to start doing it, and he didnt have any way to hide it. sighing, he walked through the almost empty gardens, most people in their rooms or the library, until he saw the easily recognizable hair of a friend "HEY" he walked towards her, peering over her shoulder when he saw the knife shining under the sunlight "woah, what are you doing with that?"
AG: Her focus was never absolute while carving the pencils to keep from jumping in surprise should someone approach her. Nothing like campus security coming to hassle her over what could be potentially a weapon on campus. Though when she heard the shout from a familiar disgruntled voice Vriska stopped what she was doing to look up at Karkat. A smirk twisted onto her expression and she closed the pen knife and tucked the pencil behind her ear. "Oh nothing you need to worry about Karkat." She said simply, putting her notes she was copying from back in her bag and stood, shouldering it. "Just getting ready for our next class is all."
CG: "Oh, right, that class, there's a test..." He laughed nervously, his hands hidden in his pockets, one of them playing with his phone, considering calling sollux and ask him for the answers during the test. He discarded the idea quickly, he would be too busy in his other class to pay attention to him, besides, he had lost count of how many times he had asked for help with that. Karkat sighed, there was no way he would pass this one, but he did see her putting away her notes "Uh, anything in there that a friend could use... you know, to write a better and more detailed answer than the one he is already planning?"
AG: "Kaaaaaaaarkat I'm surprised at you!" Vriska said in a mockery of honest surprise before her smirk returned. "Let me guess: you were too busy staying up til three in the morning playing your MMOs with Sollux again? Ha!" Reaching back, she started twisting her hair into a messy bun and removed the pencil from her ear to secure it. "Don't be lame Karkat, you know even if I did have some plans for passing this test I'd give them to you without some form of compensation. Nothing in life is free you know."
CG: "I-I..." he felt his cheeks redden in anger at her words, she had just described what had actually happened for the past weeks, but that only made it worse for him. He frowned while she tied up her hair, taking a step back, when she mentioned payment. "ugh, FINE, what do you want?" He took out his wallet, empty, but at least he had to bluff, or else she wouldnt take him seriously
AG: When he took out his wallet Vriska scoffed and started to laugh, her smirk becoming a full on grin. "Oh don't be so pedestrian." She teased, chuckling and looking him square in the eye. "I don't want your money. I trade in favors, you should know that by now."
CG: He tried to not show much how relieved he was when he put back the wallet on his pocket "Alright, I'm listening." He hoped it wouldn't be something too embarrasing, last time he had done a favor to anyone it was because equius kindly forced him to play spin the bottle with nepeta. only to end up kissing gamzee. in front of everyone. "What can I do for you oh great and wise vriska"
AG: "That's more like it." Vriska said with a wide grin and eyes narrowing dangerously, folding her arms across her chest. "It's eeeeeeeeasy really-- a triffle! What I need is for you to get me Tavros' class schedule. Simple, right? Even YOU should be able to manage that."
CG: "You want his...what?" he looked surprised at her, what she asked was...indeed, a triffle. But that only made it weirder, but he had no reason to say no "Alright I'll see what I can do... But can it be later, you know, after the test?"
AG: She chuckled. "You have until class starts to get it to me Karkat." She stated bluntly, shifting her bag as she started walking away. "I'm not going to risk you cheating me out of what I want! Meet me in the hall eight minutes before the big test." Lifting a hand to wave, she never turned back around to look at Karkat as Vriska made her way towards only she knew where.
CG: "Wh-what the... damn bitch." He whispered the last part, and walked back to the dormitories, after much begging/threating, he finally got Tavros to print a copy of his schedule. Checking his watch, he saw he only had 10 minutes to meet with her, and rushed to where they had agreed "H-here it... it is..."
AG: By the time Karkat saw Vriska again her hair was once again in a mess falling around her shoulders. She looked pleased to see he'd gotten the paper and she snatched it out of his hand the moment he presented it. "Good!" Vriska's smile faded a little and she looked at Karkat from the corner of her eye. "...You didn't tell him I was after it, did you?"
CG: He shrugged, his eyes on her bag "Not really. I just said I had to compare some things with mine and he believed me." He thought it wasnt really necessary to mention the yelling and punch threatening "Now can you help me with the test?"
AG: Rolling her eyes, Vriska opened her bag to secure the paper away and pulled out her box of pencils from earlier. She pulled one out and handed it to Karkat. It wasn't sharpened and was etched with answers down to the very base. "Best of luck on the test." She said with a grin. "Pleasure doing business with you."
