New lithium-based green phosphors rival today's commercial LED standard
Research results from Innsbruck, Schwabmünchen, and Düsseldorf demonstrate how the most widely used green phosphors in commercial LEDs can be replaced by representatives of an entirely new class of compounds. Green luminescence, as required for ubiquitous white-light LEDs, currently originates mainly from phosphors with the well-known garnet structure. In times of high energy prices and political tensions that may restrict access to certain raw materials, having an alternative with a lower synthesis temperature and different chemical composition would be highly advantageous. Now, Kilian Rießbeck from the research group of Hubert Huppertz has succeeded in synthesizing the first representatives of a new substance class which, despite a completely different composition, can rival the industrial standard. This breakthrough was made possible by materials from the substance class of lithium rare-earth oxonitridolithosilicates, which crystallize in an entirely new structure type.

Was informed that I'd made a small mistake with my Ly'lac phosphor swap. Phosphors belong to @lepiosprites
Kid Icarus
sometimes I'm a little scared to interact with Kid Icarus on tumblr because I started with Kid Icarus ONCE.
And that lead to cropped p*rn of Dark Pit.
I don't wanna go through that mental pain again, I have no idea who to follow when it comes to kiu, for Fma I just followed meme blogs. For warrior cats I just followed mainly character accounts.
But I have no clue where the hell to start with kiu man, like. Do I start with fanfiction, art, headcanons?
I'm not sure if I should just stalk the tag and figure out how everyone acts before doing something that embarrasses myself.
also the ships scare me SOMETIMES- don't even ask why I just get confused easily. //Also hhhh yeah- I don't understand the appeal of Pit x Dark Pit to some people but you do you I guess//

Fanspecies Week Day 3: Phosphors
This time I couldn’t really think of any oc ideas so I decided to just draw some fanart! I was really drawn to these two for some reason. Humphry and Philomina belong to @lepiosprites !
A series of name and symbol guides: Phosphors
This is for anyone who may need it. Do not shame anyone for needing this. If theres anything i can change to make it more understandable just tell me :)
All Phosphors have symbols. These symbols are based on Color and Name.
1.) The Shape of the symbol is simply based on the Color of the Phosphor. This always matches.
Aphenion is cyan, so her symbol is the diamond
Phosphor names can be any number of letters in length. It must be longer than four letters, though.
Phosphor names also must contain at least one instance of "PH" somewhere in it. It can be anywhere in the name as long as it's there.
- Alph is a valid Phosphor name, but Pho is not.
The Phosphor alphabet doesn't have the letters "C" or "Q", and instead use similarly sounding "K"s and "S"s
- Qliphoth isn't a valid Phosphor name, instead it would be spelled as "Kliphoth"
The pattern inside the shape is based on the first letter of the Phosphors' name, or the letter after the "PH" is the "PH" starts the name.
- Humphrey would have the "H" pattern. Ephram and Phetio would both have the "E" pattern
The color of the pattern matches the color of the shape. just line up the black dot in the middle of the pattern with the colored dot in the middle of the shape.
From there its just the matter of filling a section of the symbol in. This is base on the placement of the "PH" in the Phosphor's name.
Starting from NORTH you count clockwise until you reach the space the "PH" is in. If NORTH is a line, use the section to your right of the line. Don't worry if you make a full rotation around, just keep going until you go far enough.
I'll use Humphrey as an example.
Humphrey's "PH" has three letters before it, so we need the fourth spot clockwise. Because NORTH is a line, spot one will be the small square to the right.
Heres a quick warmup doodle of my self insert phosphor oc Phinn for @fanspeciesweek2020

Differences in the phosphor triads of a Magnavox CRT color Television (top) and a Sony Trinitron (bottom). The Trinitron perfectly shows how the phosphors are not actually pixels from them being completely unobstructed in the Y-axis. The Phosphors are what enabled analog television sets to produce a color image, they are what the red, green, and blue electron beams are able to hit producing a color image on the screen.
