While I would not quite call it analogue photography, as the photo itself was digital, and was transformed into a negative using a computer program. The photo itself was taken by me, and I entirely developed it by hand, using water, peroxide, bleach, and a tea bath. This type of photo development is called cyanotype. The photo paper is watercolour paper, which has been chemically treated. The next step is using UV light, or direct sunlight to transfer the photograph onto the paper. Finally, the photo is dipped into water, peroxide, more water, bleach, and finally a bath in tea.
By the way, my girl, my doggo, is named Sowas. My partner is Indigenous, from the Cayuga nation; their language is at risk due to colonization. Sowas (prounced like ‘so what’ but you replace the t with an s). And what does it mean? It means dog. Yep, we named our dog, Dog.
