~Painting with light using Arthur as a model~

This was made in my photography class today, the photo itself was taken yesterday but I edited it today.

My friend was holding Arthur up and I was doing the lights.

(I am no professional and this was made for an assignment, it wasn't going to look perfect and I didn't expect it to look perfect.)

And Now for Something Completely Different

Last summer we did something completely different, large format photography!

I discovered that a photo store downtown offered large format photography workshops, so we decided to try it. We each got to shoot two frames, one urban and one portrait. We had to load our film blindly in the special film loading bag (not easy at all!) and try to focus (also not easy, image is upside down).

Really cool experience, it doesn't convince me to go back to film, but I'd never tried the large format cameras before, so happy to get the chance.

Development Print Thing Attempt 1

A picture of how the test strip and prototype prints ended up.

5 seconds of exposure from the second dimmest light source.

Will try again.

The picture above shows two strips of ink drawings of my ocs, Madeline Rivera and Cheyene.

However, during the process, I made a mistake in placing the images on the photographic paper.

I placed the drawings upside down, where the tracing paper collected most of the light exposing the paper.

In turn the texture of the tracing paper left rough looking prints on top of the image.

Good news: I can try again on Thursday next week, where I may draw another oc on tracing paper.

It’s weird, I tried taking some photos with my face on full display but it just looked weird, I don’t know what to do with my face …anyway it’s giving oil painting and I love that

I was accidentally put back into a Photography class that I already completed. My teacher told me I needed to take much better, more interesting pictures than before.

It was very distressing. :(
