The Bronx Documentary Center is proud to present "Seconds of My Life: Photographs from 1975-2025" by Brooklyn-based photographer Jamel Shabazz (@jamelshabazz). This exhibition offers a rare glimpse into Shabazz’s incredible archive, spanning his early days photographing classmates in junior high to his celebrated street and documentary work capturing New York’s vibrant communities.
Through decades of images, Shabazz tells stories of identity, resilience, and culture—offering an intimate look at everyday life across generations.
Renowned for his vibrant street photography and powerful portraits, Jamel Shabazz has spent decades documenting communities with love, respect, and a deep sense of history. Join us for his Opening Reception at the BDC on March 8th, from 6-9 PM.
