Creating a masterpiece
Single images are wonderful, but they seldom tell a larger story. Photography is an art of capturing the moment. And, by collecting these moments, we can dive into the vast and mesmerizing ocean of visual story telling.
When we create a photography project, we are actually creating a visual narrative. This narrative tells three stories simultaneously. Story of what was in front of the camera, story of the photographer, and story of the viewers who interact with these images. Only photography has this superpower. Join us to feel this power with your eyes, and record it with your camera.
During the course of six sessions, we will create a thematic photography project of 15 to 20 (or more) images, in the following flow.
Session 1 - Introduction: The basic idea behind creating projects, and why it is essential ? And, different methods to start.
Session 2 - Idea generation: We list our ideas, and raise questions to find strength and weakness in it.
Session 3 - Implementation: We discuss various methods to realize the idea into visual imagery.
Session 4 - Test analysis: First batch of images taken and analysed together to see what is missing, and what is unwanted.
Session 5 - Selection: We go through contact sheets, and finding images to be selected and put together as a body of work.
Session 6 - Presentation: putting final selection through a virtual presentation (hypothetical expected result) and see if it works or not.
