PHP Extension and How to Install it on Windows

PHP is an open-source language where codes are executed at the server-side by a PHP interpreter, which is why it is also called a Server-side programming language. On the server-side or web server, the output of the PHP interpreter or inputted codes may be of HTML or binary data. And this would be an HTTP response or a part of it.

The PHP interpreter is powered by Zend Engine and it is free software released under PHP License, it does not involve any cost. Fatal errors and leaks - A Guide

If you're writing a PHP extension that must call php functions by users, there is a special case that is not well documented that you should be aware of.

If the function you call to encounters a fatal error in PHP-land, execution will never return to your extension.

You'll leak memory and valgrind will pick up on that and everything will be terrible and blah, blah, blah.

The good news? If PHP encounters a fatal error (i.e. Fatal error: Call to undefined function ifsetor()), PHP immediately will try to exit after logging the error, or execute a user-provided shutdown function if one is registered, then exit. So you don't really need to worry about the memory leak. The OS should clean it up once the PHP process exits.

Modifications to autogenerated PHP extension Makefiles to make life easier

There are a couple odd defaults in the Makefile that phpize+configure generate for you that you may want to modify while developing and debugging.

By default, extensions compile with -O2. This can lead to tools like valgrind and gdb getting confused about what line number correlates to what section of the binary. It’s located under CFLAGS and can just be deleted when you need a debug build.

You can enable valgrind to run on your extension by adding the -m flag to the run-tests.php invocation in the test: section of the Makefile.

To enable tracking of variables in valgrind (useful whenever you see Conditional jump or move depends on uninitialised value from valgrind), you have to edit the run-tests.php file itself. Search for valgrind -q and add --track-origins=yes to enable variable tracking.

php development headers and tools

如果在使用ubuntu,可以这样安装包:

$ ls

其中的config.json,这个文件包含配置,可以用来改变Zephir的行为.

添加我们的第一个类:
