Fire was creeping closer to Meloras comfortable world the day the violent earthquake turned beautiful San Francisco into a burning, smoky nightmare. Melora had been about to make a crucial decision about her life and her love – her thoughts were swirling with handsome Quent Seymour of Nob Hill. But fate had another plan. Amid the angry flames of a crumbling city, Tony Ellis appeared, and suddenly Melora found herself plunged into a whirlpool of romantic conflict from which there was only one secret escape. And that secret was locked in her heart.
NOTE: OK, so this blurb is not written for my kind of reader. It sounds awful. But I liked her juvenile mysteries so I'll try it.
With its black eyes, the creature looks at the four children, mysteriously wise, mysteriously alive….“ What is the secret of the green cat? Why does it mean so much to the strange people who live next door? Why is the old baroness kept a prisoner there in the gloomy old mansion? Andy and his twin brother are having a hard time getting used to their new stepsisters. But on one thing the four of them agree: they are determined to find the mysterious china cat and learn its sinister secret
NOTE: A green cat with a sinister secret. I’m so intrigued.
Good stories are not written. They are rewritten

Perhaps the only sensible thing to do was pack at once and get myself aboard the next bus to London. But I did not move. I stayed where I was, staring out the window. When had I ever been sensible when it came to Justin?

my spacebar isn't stuck anymore and i'm further in hunter's green.
basically everyone should read this book. yes it's oldish, but it's fucking awesome. who doesn't love themselves a great steamy, dramatic book full of romance and love triangles and mystery and death? oh yeah and did i mention it takes place in england and it's in the 1970s and everything is awesome and angsty??
