Update: Cooking and Food
Yo, nerds! Mod Nat here with another minigame update, this time pertaining to the Cooking game.
I’ve made a few edits and changes, so if you’re someone whose interested in this game in particular (or might be, in the future), be sure to read up!
To start off, for the Cooking minigame especially:
The cooking recipe list has now been separated into several different categories (rice dishes, drinks, desserts, etc) as opposed to the singular recipe list from before. So now there’s much more variety, and use for ingredients!
The recipes not only have their usual prices associated with them, but now also have special effects and bonuses! These are mostly stat boosts, but there are also other effects to help turn the tide of battle, or with minigames.
Each dish, like before, are separated into categories of Small/Medium/Large, and -- also like before -- you can only cook dishes that correlate to what level of kitchen you have.
Example: If you have a medium kitchen, you can only make dishes in the small and medium categories, not large.
Each category -- of Small, Medium and Large -- now have certain HP values associated with them, as well. Dishes cooked from the Small category will now heal 1 HP (2 rerolls) in minigames, the Medium category will heal 3 HP (6 rerolls) and the Large category will heal 5 HP (10 rerolls).
And now, for the Food system in general:
As you all might be aware, Food items can be used in the minigames, whether it be as another way to grant re-rolls, or remove options from Monster Taming.
But starting as of now, Food items will heal in one of three values: 1HP, 3HP or 5HP. To know what food heals for what, just refer to the Cooking minigame, if it’s something you’ve created/gotten from there.
If it’s a Food item that is purchased from a business, however, or is a raw ingredient found or grown in one of the other minigames... then it will automatically heal for 1HP, unless otherwise specified.
These are the number of re-rolls that will be granted with each value:
1HP: 2 re-rolls
3HP: 6 re-rolls
5HP: 10 re-rolls
Business owners who run establishments that sell food are free to apply HP values to their products if they want! As long as it is one of the values listed above.
Food can be used for minigames that don’t require tools, but don’t offer a way to re-roll either, such as Critter Catching or Foraging. They can also be used to replenish a character’s health in battles (does not apply to tournament battles).
As of now, only one Food item can be used in all minigames.
If you want to take Food items and use their stat boosting special effects on voyages, battles or during an rp, only one dish may be consumed at a time. Once you consume a dish, its special effects and stat boosts will be in place for the duration of the time it is being used (so within that voyage/battle/rp).
If you decide to consume another dish during that time, then the effects of the new dish will overtake the previous one. Effects from multiple dishes cannot stack.
