I Beg Your Pardon || Keira & Lynette

Keira was taking walking down the streets of Leuda with her favorite book in hand; The Tale of Genji. The copy she borrowed from the library was a lot different than how Keira remembered it. She had her nose so far in the book, she didn’t notice the woman she was about to bump into.

The impact of the collision caused Keira to drop her book, and to lose her place. She stared at the fallen book wistfully before remembering she had bumped into someone. Turning her focus to the women in front of her, Keira was taken aback by the woman’s eye, or lack of eye.

Keira didn’t know what was under her eyepatch though. Not that it was any of her business. Stopping herself, after realizing she was staring, Keira backed up to make room for her to bow in apology. She bowed a second time to pick up her book.

Figuring maybe reading and walking wasn't such a good idea, she put her back into her bag. Keira took out her notepad and pen to write a proper apology. She flipped it open to a clean page and wrote down, "Please pardon me for my carelessness." Keira took a final bow, putting her head down and showing the woman her apology note.

New Island: Water Temple

In the middle of the ocean, there is a hole with the tops of pillars sticking out from the center. If the voyager boat grows close to the hole and look down, they will see what looks to be a temple surrounded by waterfalls and stone pathways. The temple is large, though it seems that only half of it is above the surface. 

There does not seem to be a regular way to descend down the waterfalls, so the voyagers will have to be creative in their strategy. And alternatively...they will also have to find a way back up when they leave. The lower level of the sea is safe, so there are no monsters outside the temple. Inside the temple, however, there will be much to explore...

What will the voyagers do?

When the voyagers enter the temple, they see a large circular room, Along the perimeter of the room is one door to the west, one to the east, a stairway that goes up, and a stairway that goes down. This main room looks as if people used to gather here to worship certain deities, with pews arranged in a circle around worn statues that depict a dragon and a serpentine creature. There are some monsters roaming around the temple.

Through the west door, there is a small resting room with multiple beds and changes of clothing to priest clothes - if any of the voyagers are desperate for a change in clothing. While the voyagers may rest there freely, the door to this room is made of wood, so monsters may surprise them during their respite.

Through the east door is an offering room, filled to the brim with offerings made to those strange deities depicted in the main room. In the offering room, there is gold amounting up to 50,000G, four sapphires, and a historical tablet worth up to 10,000G if turned into the guild. While there’s nobody guarding these treasures now, perhaps those deities...if they exist...would not be happy to learn that someone stole from their offerings.

If the group ventures up the stairs, they will see a large, circular room with a slate in the center. Resting within this slate, a summoning altar, is none other than Leviathan. The second that the group attempts to approach Leviathan, it will awake and grow angry at the voyagers that have come to disturb its slumber. While it at first looks like it will attack the voyagers, it will instead crash through the ceiling of the water temple. Leviathan will escape, flying through the air to terrorize the high seas in order to let out its anger.

As a result, Leviathan will now potentially be encountered on the sea. Nice job breaking it, heroes.

Alternatively, if the group decides to descend down the stairs, they will find a very damp and dark area, very similar to the room on the top of the temple. However, standing in the center of the room is a powerful figure: Aquaticus. How the group handles interacting with the elder dragon and his potential wrath after stealing items from the offering room is all up to the voyagers...
