“Pick a Nanny”

Mark & Seth have a tough choice to make. Both Ingrid and Peter are qualified and both seem like a good fit for the family. Their background checks and references are all good so there is only one thing to do. PICK ONE!!

But, wait... THERE’S MORE!

Regardless of whoever you vote to be the Nanny there are two separate storylines based on who is chosen. Each storyline adds some drama but one is a somewhat happy storyline and the other not so much So be careful who you choose, there could be long lasting effects on the twins and the story! PICK A NANNY 

Results are in and the twins Nanny is

PETER LOWENTHAL

Peter was created and shared with me by my friend @manlysims​. He is 25 years old and his birthday is Nov. 4, making him a Scorpio. I will be adding him to the Character Page over the next few days.  His Life Aspiration is to be a best selling author, his traits are, clumsy, creative and erratic. Thanks @manlysims​!

GENERATION ONE ~ EPISODE 9

Things Are Not Always What They Seem...

SETH- “Peter, I am so glad you accepted our offer. Mark and I both think you will be a perfect fit for the family. I hope you are happy with the agreement and if you need anything, please do not hesitate to ask, okay?”

PETER- “I am honored for this opportunity and yes, the agreement was more than satisfactory! I can not wait to get started.”

MARK- “How about we start with a tour of the house, then!”

PETER- “Sounds good.”

SETH- “The home sat vacant and abandoned for years. It took us a while to get it the way we wanted. We have added rooms, expanded the living space and done a lot of remodel, but it is finally the way we want it.

PETER- “This is amazing, the portraits, are they family members?”

MARK- “Those are Seth’s parents Albert and Lila, when they were younger and first married. His father Albert, has passed, and his mother is in a memory care facility here in Brindleton. She suffers from Alzheimer's.

PETER- “So sorry, but those portraits are beautiful.

SETH- “Let’s go to the Dining area and the kitchen, then we can show you your room. The entire house is at your disposal, Peter. Treat it as your own. We have a weight room and a theater room as well as a arts and crafts. My nephew lives here as well when he is not at school. He has a room in the basement that we have just completed for him.

MARK- “I do the cooking, well most of it. Seth does help from time to time, but he has strange hours at the clinic. His cooking skills are not...well let’s just say he prefers that I cook. And of course I work from home. You interviewed in my office.”

PETER- “I feel as though I am living in a mansion, this place is beautiful.”

SETH- “Not a mansion, but it is large. We recently hired a maid service, so you will only be responsible to keep your room tidy and your own laundry...and of the course the twins.”

MARK- “Well, I think that is all, Peter. Again thank you for coming back for this 2nd interview.”

PETER- “I was delighted when you called me and wanted to see me again! I really feel attached to Logan and Jonas already after just seeing them. I also do think that the three of us have a connection, which is important as well. And to be honest, the question regarding my sexuality was fine. I mean you are opening your home to me, if I am brought on.  You do need to know those things. So, I look forward to your next call!”

SETH- “Thanks Peter.  It was nice to talk to you again. And yes, I do think the three of us have a lot in common, same interests, and close to the same age. Which would also be an advantage to the kids. Someone generationally the same as their parents.

PETER- “Yes, that is a point I actually didn’t think of until today. So I will wait for your call.”

MARK- “Yes, Again, thanks.

PETER- “Bye now....”

SETH- (under his breath) “I hope you are happy now. That was so embarrassing. What difference does it make if he was gay or not, Mark?”

MARK- “I just wanted to know. I mean I wouldn’t want him bringing strange guys in here at all hours of the night.”

SETH- “Yeah, right.  I am sure that was not the reason you wanted to know. He is extremely attractive. I know exactly why you wanted to know!!”

MARK- “Seriously Seth? I have all the man I need, are you actually being jealous?”

SETH- “Maybe, like I said he is VERY good-looking”

MARK- “Fine, you were right. I wanted to know, well just to know. And I didn’t think jealousy was in your blood.”

SETH- “It’s not, but apparently honesty isn’t in yours....”

MARK- “And who acted like they were jealous when they aren’t? But it is of no matter, not only is he not gay, he is not even sexual, so there is that.”

SETH- “I am glad we called him back. I actually think he would be a good choice, Mark.  This is so hard. a lot harder than I anticipated.”

SETH- “Mr. Lowenthal, thank you so much for coming back.”

PETER- “Please, just call me Peter, I mean if I am going to be the kids nanny, I would prefer to be on a first name basis...if that is alright?”

MARK- “Of course it is alright, Peter. So you got your bachelor’s degree from Britechester?”

PETER- “Yes, and I am working on my Masters there as well. I want to be a psychologist, ironic, huh? I honestly had no idea that you were Mark.”

SETH- “You two will have a lot to talk about then. So are you wanting to work primarily with children once you get your Master’s or are you going for your Doctorate as well.”

PETER- “Doctorate, yes, You really have no chance to get anywhere in the psychology field without it.”

MARK- “So true, I plan on going back once the kids are in school.”

SETH- “Hmmm, really? So Peter I am sure we told you this before, but I just wanted to make sure you were okay with this, but you would live here and be on call 24 hours. Of course you would have two days off each week, and personal time every day.”

PETER- “Oh, that is fine, I have no issues with that whatsoever. I haven’t much if any social life. I mean I work now and go to school, and now with me working on my Master’s remotely, I really would have no time. But of course, my focus would be the kids first and foremost.”

INGRID- “And you know, I just love children. They are so pure and innocent. All you need to do is give them attention and love and that will make them happier than anything. That is the problem. Parents don’t have time for their kids. They are too busy thinking of themselves. Kids don’t want things, they want their parents!”

MARK- “Well, thank you again for coming back. We hope to make a decision by the end of the week.”

INGRID- “Like I said, I can start immediately. I do not have a lot of things, I can just throw them in my truck and be here ready to move in and start as soon as you need me!”

SETH- “Thanks Ms. Braun. We will be in contact.”

INGRID- “Whatever you decide boys is fine with me. Regardless if it is me or another fine Nanny, I know those two will be well taken care of.”

MARK- “Thank you again. I will see you out.”

INGRID- “Not necessary Sweetie, will talk to you soon.”

MARK- “Sweetie, sweetie sweetie.... If she said it one more time, I was going to lose it! She loves using that word...but honestly, I feel a little better about her after this interview.  I am glad we called her back.”

SETH- “So what time is the young man supposed to be here?”

MARK- “At four. We have time to feed the babies, change them and then we can eat and put them down for a nap. Maybe even catch a little lovie dovie.  What do you say Sweetie??”

SETH- “Your incorrigible.”

Mark and Seth interviewed about 16 Nannies, all shapes sizes, colors and genders and they finally settled on two. The first one was a middle aged woman, Ingrid Braun. She had experience and was a former school teacher in the neighboring town of Windenburg and was looking to relocate here in Brindleton. The other was a young man, about Mark and Seth’s age. His name was Peter Lowenthal. He too had experience, however not as much as Ms. Braun, and he also had recently moved to the area from Willow Creek. Mark liked Peter and Seth was leaning more toward Ingrid, so they decided to bring them both back in for a second interview.

PAY CLOSE ATTENTION TO THE INTERVIEWS

Because once the interviews are over...YOU will be voting for who will be the twins Nanny!

MARK- “Should I ask him, or should you?...”

SETH- “Peter, I am sorry for this, but my husband here wants to ask a personal question. This is so inappropriate, I don’t know why I am even going to do this, and if you are offended, I am sorry and you have every right to be. And regardless of your answer, if you even choose to answer it, has no bearing on whether or not we want you for a Nanny. We wouldn’t have called you for this second interview if this were the case”

PETER- “You needn’t ask, I am not gay and no offense taken. I am surprised however that a married gay couple would ask that. I am actually somewhat tickled you even brought it up. But no, I am not gay. And to be very open and honest with you both, I am Asexual. Or maybe I should say I consider myself biromantic asexual. Meaning I am not attracted sexually to anyone male or female, however I have been in romantic relationships with both male and female. I am in no way homophobic or anything such as that. My sister is a lesbian, and my best friend is Gay, so I have no issues regarding sexuality, race, gender or political choices. I just like people, period. I hope that answers any of those questions you may have had or wondered about”

SETH- “Yes, I uh... mean, thank you and trust me, we do not either, and I am sorry we asked that and I appreciate your frankness and openness. So can we move on now, Mark? “ (as he looks glaringly at his husband)

MARK - “I apologize to both of you for that ...

SETH- “We are moving on from that Mark, Okay?”

MARK- “Right. So, we see your last position was with a family in Willow Creek? So how many children did they have and why did you leave there?”

PETER- “Yes, Willow Creek, The Spencer-Lewis-Kim Family. They had one child, a daughter, Alice. I worked for them throughout my college experience. When I graduated from Britechester, Alice was to start Jr. High School the following fall, so her parents felt it was time for her to become more independent. Which she was ready. She was delightful, and we became very close.

MARK- “We were hoping that whomever we chose would be able to dedicate at least seven years to Logan and Jonas. Once they start school, we would no longer need a nanny. So are you able to do that?”

PETER- “Yes. Like I said, working on my Masters then my Doctorate is going to take me at least that long. So I will be able to remain on here as long as the two of you feel I am needed.”

SETH- “Thank you so much, Ms. Braun for coming back. Like I said on the phone we are almost ready to make a decision but we just had a couple more questions for you.”

INGRID- “I completely understand, sweetie. These are your children!  You have a lot at stake here, and whomever you choose is going to have a huge impact on their little lives.”

MARK- “Exactly. Thank you for understanding. An infants early days and years a very important. So, we need to make sure that the person responsible for the bulk of their care puts forward the same values and way of thinking that we hope to instill in them.”

INGRID- “Oh, don’t I know it!?  And you do too I am sure being a therapist and counselor. It is sad these days how some children have no morale compass and have no respect for anyone but themselves. That was one of the reasons I stopped teaching in the schools. I feel I can have a greater impact on the next generation working with them in this type of capacity.”

SETH- “So you told us last time that you have no children of your own.  Other than teaching children and working with the family you put down as your reference what other interaction have you had with kids?”

INGRID- “Sweetie, don’t you think being a teacher every day is interaction enough!?  I am joking, I helped my sister raise her twins. Having two at the same age is hard, and she needed help being a single mom. Your little ones have two parents and you know how hard it is. Imagine if there were just one of you!! I also have other nieces and nephews that I was constantly around and called upon to sit with. How do you think I got these grey hairs at so young an age?”
