Pickax of Dwarvenkind
A pickax with a metal head and a stone handle, covered in dwarven runes.
When holding the pickax, a creature feels the urge to build out of stone. The pickax also grants the user the ability of an average stonemason, though it does not affect strength.
Yesterday was definitely an interesting one. Poor Mauvince here was helping his neighbor in the garden and somehow got a pick ax through the top of his foot and out the bottom. I truly wonder what the purpose of having these big, expensive hospitals in rural places when their main priority is strictly profit. They would not even look at the kid until everything, including each pair of glove used, was paid for in advance and then continued to prescribe him ridiculous things like vitamin C in a tropical country 😐. 1 out of the 5 pills prescribed was actually useful and that was the antibiotics. Still need to go to town to get him a shot for tetanus but it seems like he’ll make it through. I’m just glad that I was around to help him. His mother wouldn’t have been able to do it on her own. #growninhaiti #pickax #accident #ouch #toughguy #healthforprofit #sickcare #capitalism #haiti #ayiti #mountainlife
Jilly with a pick ax
Great news! We were finally able to get Mauvince that tetanus shot. Unfortunately, he had to take a trip down to town for it. The experience however I must say was quite challenging. Before anyone would see him, at least 5 people told me to go pay for bandages without even knowing what was wrong with him 🤨 We then had to sit in an unsanitary room for treatment given why we both had to hold our shirts to our faces. All of these doctors seem as if they got into the profession for status as they all had on pointy shoes and big shiny belt buckles. Thanks to people like @erin_bodyaware of BodyAware Acupunture and Teddy Clermont from New Jersey, we will soon be able to provide first aid to our community in cases of emergency. As I mentioned in a previous post, the medical profession here, just like anywhere else, is geared towards profit and patients aren’t seen or even considered if payment isn’t received. Glad that we will now be able to provide an option for those who aren’t financially capable themselves. Will keep everyone updated on his progress. I’m thankful that we were able to get the tetanus shot in time. #growninhaiti #sickcarenothealthcare #getwellsoon #fashionistas #haiti #ayiti #accident #pickax
