“ The other Eds ? I’ll be honest, I haven’t had the pleasure in meeting too many, yet. But I’d love to. After all... I’m already rather difficult for my enemies to handle. Had I team up with other Eds ? Then we’d surely be unstoppable. ”

“ But I suppose that also makes me a bit anxious. What if we don’t get along ? What if they make me discover things that I don’t like about myself ? What if they’re... smarter than I am ? Or... I know there are some Edwards who aren’t dependent on drugs. What if they believe themselves to be superior to me because of their sobriety ? What if that were true ? They may intimidate me... make me insecure... Yes, I am the only Edward in my own universe. But I might find out that I can be... better. ”

“ In the end, I fancy the idea of other Eds but... their existence intimidates me at the same time. I would guess that means I’m conflicted about them. ”

The safety goes off, the goon’s pleas echoing in the warehouse. This is not Ed’s favorite part. He doesn’t like to kill, not men like this one, not for these reasons. But that’s not his problem, it’s part of the job, it has to be done — even though it is rarely his job. The problem is that it is so...boring. The sound of the gun going off echoes as well, and that’s when Ed sees Jonathan walking in. He sighs ❝This is not your...territory.❞ he gestures around, his expression showing he doesn’t particularly care, even if it was ❝Is it?❞

Ellis deflates a bit, the other man could be nicer. It wasn’t as if he had meant to shoot the car. IT had been a mistake, a slip of the man if anything it wasn’t like there was that been a hoard-- maybe that would have been nicer than the leaking gas tank. Ellis worries his lip between his teeth. Where the hell where they going to find another working car with a gas tank.  “I think we’re back to walkin’. That’s ‘bout the best plan I got...”

He was hoping that Dr. Crane had accidentally dosed him. That would actually make some sense of what he’d just seen.

His Alice. His dear sister. bleeding from the chest and screaming at him. Screaming it was his fault.

Jervis was on his knees with his hands clutched in his hair; hat somewhere on the floor. He hadn’t even heard Jonathan say anything; just repeating

“Alice..No, no no.”

The sigh that escaped the doctor’s lips was less exasperated then was typical, mingled with something that was half pity, half discomfort. Watching a mans mind betray him was a fascinating thing, true enough, but considering it wasn’t Jonathan’s doing, his interest was only held for so long.

“Tetch.”

Crane knelt, grabbing the man’s wrists tightly in an attempt to loose his hands from his hair, voice is kept firm, although characteristic harshness is-temporarily- kept at bay.

“Tetch. You are hallucinating. This is no more real then anything my toxins have shown you. Do you understand?”

He grimaced as pain tinged through his side before he could speak properly; The Riddler was leaning on the doorway with one hand and an injured arm wrapped around his side.

“I’m sorry for the intrusion bu- but..” A wheeze interrupted him as he took a breath.”-you were the closest.”

“My equipment seemed to anger Man-Bat.. I-I believe it might’ve been hurting his ears.”

It was his fault; he genuinely felt bad about harming the man, but Ed certainly paid for it in spades. A nice slice into his side before he managed to his equipment off. Only after did he put two and two together about what was wrong.

“Ah, Dr. Langstrom, I did wonder how he’s been doing.” Jonathan wasn’t much surprised by Edward’s arrival, nor by his state, or at the very least, he hid it well. Another rogue coming to him with an injury wasn’t what he would call a common occurrence, but given the danger of their work, these things did happen.

“I’d say he’s doing a good deal better then you, that’s for sure, really should have done your research on that...” He smirked, beckoning him in with a slight flick of his wrist as he set down the book he had been holding. “Don’t just stand there getting blood on my doorstep then, it’s in or out, and I’d prefer you make the choice quickly”

He grabbed a loose rag that seemed relatively uncontaminated with toxin and tossed it to him. “No blood on my equipment, none on the books, sit down wherever you need. Will I need to find my sewing kit?”
