        “You know those Business Scrubs are lying to you when they tell you they have a natural tendency to spit seeds, right? They just like messing with people when they can get away with it.”

       She cleared her throat, looked over her shoulder, and hacked out a small wooden pellet, as if it were phlegm, then wiped her mouth. Was she the one lying?

        “Now then, did you want to buy anything? I’ve got a good price on arrows-- high quality and hand made with special properties by yours truly too. Would you like to learn more?”

Ghastly Odyssey

There was an empty chasm inside of his chest, an aching hunger in his gut. The feelings and burning heat in his bones made it hard to focus on anything at all. Tears streamed down his face as heavy wracking sobs shook Echo’s far too thin and fragile looking frame. He rocked himself back and forth, long black claws scraping at the concrete beneath him.

Echo did not really register anyone approaching him at first, not until the hairs on the back of his neck were standing on end and he could smell someone coming closer. Without meaning to he let loose a rattling growl through his sobbing that gradually got louder the closer the other person got. Finally he turned his face towards them sharp teeth displayed in a threatening snarl.

“G-go away!” Echo demanded his voice loud but choked by his own cries.
