He says. I took a moment to pause to think and assess myself... Do I want to turn around? I do. But I was scared to. Because if I do I’d let him into my heart. And everyone I’ve ever loved has left me. And I didn’t want to be left again. I wanted to be chosen. I wanted someone to chose me.
Are you going to join me?
He asked. I turned around slowly.
Fear of letting people in huh?
He asked.

Was he in my head?
I can sense things about people. And what I sensed from you is that you’ve been hurt by people you trust. I can tell these things. Your smile is so big and bright as if you’ve never experienced sadness before. But sometimes the people with the most pain have the brightest smile...
I sat down beside him on the bench and just looked at him. How could he sense that from me?
You aren’t wrong about what you sense about me. I’ve been hurt before yes... But I try not to let it get to me. Because I don’t want the pain to swallow me whole. And I don’t want to get lost in it so much that I hurt anyone I let in the same way I was hurt...
