Not a writing post, just a rant.

This may be a hot take, but I firmly believe that your ear lobe should be your first piercing. Mainly because, the maintenance is low as hell and it’s hard to fuck up.

For instance, it’s the most painless piercing ever so it gives you a good scope of “If this is the lowest pain level, how will something else feel?”. It’s also a good way to figure out metal allergies because you will know if your ears feel like they’re on fire. Not to mention, the maintenance is as easy as it gets with very little chance of rejection.

It’s a good set of training wheels before a more demanding or painful piercing like a snake bite, a septum, an eyebrow, or even a naval. Because if you can handle a lobe, not get it closed or infected, then you can probably handle something that requires more attention.

Ex: I got my lobes done in first grade, and a second lobe in sophomore year of high school. For me, it was how I discovered my nickel allergy, how I was able to tell what I needed to stay on top of my piercing, and how I figured how the healing process works for my body. If I went straight to the angel fangs I have now, I’d freak out that I was on the longer end and be confused about why costume jewellery hurts so much.

So i got vertical labret piercing not once but twice, the girl who did the piercing actually pierced it crooked twice, I had to take the piercing out today and wait to get it redone in 3 weeks because my lip have to heal

I’ve never had such a painful piercing. It’s been 5 days and my ear I sore and red and swollen. And my secondary lobe is suddenly rejecting the 3mm strech I did last week so that fucking hurts too. Like obviously I did research and knew conches were difficult but my piercer told me I would be fine but um ? Ouch? I’m going back on the 3rd to get it changed for a shorter bar so hopefully it’ll go down by then and the shorter bar will be more comfortable? I dunno. After this pain the end result better be fucking cute.

I refuse to buy my jewelry online. If you can’t see it you don’t know what you’re getting. I always buy from my piercer. ALWAYS. But it doesn't mean I don’t like to look at jewelry online and get ideas and ask my piercer if there’s any way they can get a piece I like.

I get slightly upset at people who mislabel their piercings, and then when I comment nicely correcting them (because they are spreading wrong information about the piercing to other people), they get angry and decide to delete the comment :( I was just trying to be informative

my parents won’t let me

well I’ll be 18 so piercing my ear will be good with birthday cash (unless I need a new camera then I’ll do that)

but I really want an ear piercing.

my mom said no tats until I’m able to pay for myself but I’ll probs get on at 19?

I’m defs getting an earring this summer though.

I switched out my conch for a different ring in a smaller size (a 16 to an 18) because I'd been having some problems with it. But now I have a huge lump of scar tissue behind my ear (not because of the 16, because a snot nosed brat pulled on it and tore my ear a bit) but I'm weirdly self conscious now? And I'm sizing down because I prefer the 18 gage as opposed to the 16 but I can't find other 18 runs and *heavy sigh*.

Wanna pierce myself. Well not me doing it, a professional piercer. Obviously. 

I have the money. Saved it up all by myself. I'm of legal age for the piercing. So what's stopping me? 

Mum says no. 

Fuck. I'm nearly 20. Bit of a joke, right?
