gimme a whumpee who is taught that no is an answer they are allowed to give, taught the concept of free will
and decides this applies to everything
caretaker is thrilled that whumpee is making their own decisions until the phrase
"you need to eat at least some of your greens"
is met with a "No" and whumpee smacking their plate, making the plate hit the dining room floor all while maintaining direct eye contact with cartaker
whumpee is only allowed to use the plastic IKEA dishware caretaker bought them after the third time they broke a plate in the name of free will
Whumptober, Day 14
dont mind me just feeding the birds
Caretaker could barely hear their frantic footsteps above the sound of their heart pounding in their ears. They had to find Whumpee they needed to find Whumpee. The team got a tip almost a week ago that Whumpee was here, and Caretaker hadn’t stopped asking about going for Whumpee since. Caretaker looked behind another row of highly stacked, unlabeled crates. Caretaker almost gave up hope when they still saw no sign of whumpee. Then the identifiable sound of a whimper comes from their left. "Whumpee? Whumpee!" Caretaker called out and their pace picked up to run towards the sound. They practically broke down crying when they saw a broken and bloodied figure lying on the floor of the warehouse. If they hadn't noticed the shaky breaths whumpee was taking they would have thought whumpee was dead. "Just hold on! hold on Whumpee I'll go get help"
Whumptober, Day 10
i had higher hopes for this lol

Whumpee's eyebrows scrunched, a scowl plastered across their face. They knew Whumper was just behind them, waiting for Whumpee to fail. But Whumpee was determined to get down the stairs and to the living room. It was pathetic that this was a challenge for them now, but Whumpee tried to cut themself some slack as Whumper had done a number on them. Whumpee stumbled and tried to catch themselves only to feel Whumper grabbing the back of their shirt so they didn't fall. WHumpee hissed a curse and wrenched themself free from Whumper's grasp. "I don't need your help!" WHumpee snarled whirling around to face Whumper. Whumper only smirked and replied, "Oh? Is that so?" Whumper gave a sharp shove to Whumpee's shoulder, something anyone would reorient from quickly. Yet Whumpee fell, landing hard. Whumpee scrambled up, desperate to prove their independence. "Yeah!" "Really? Can't you see how you're lost without me? Stumbling like a fawn without my help. It's sad, really, you can't even manage simple tasks."
Whumptober, Day 7
idk what this us but its something so-

Caretaker leaned forward, practically holding their breath as they stared at Whumpee's still face. It was like Caretaker was pretending they were in the scene in a movie where the comatose character woke up.
But this isn't a movie, and Whumpee isn't waking up. The doctors say they should wake up soon. Yet Caretaker knew how much they had been through with Whumper, and even if they woke up, they would have so much trauma to work through. It'd be difficult, but Caretaker would always stay by Whumpee's
Cataker gently held Whumpee's hand in theirs. They rubbed small circles into the back of Whumpee's hand with their thumb. Caretaker turned Whumpee's hand over, tracing the lines of Whumpee's palm.
They remembered a night long before. Where Caretaker had held Whumpee's hand with a palm reading website open on their laptop. Staring scrutinizingly at the lines on Whumpee's hand and saying ridiculous fortunes. It was all to hear Whumpee's laugh, light, and the most beautiful sound Caretaker ever heard.
The steady beep of the heart monitor brought Caretaker back to the present. A present where they weren’t happy, they knew Whumper and Whumpee was still just lying there.
“Whumpee?” Caretaker felt imaginably stupid talking to someone in a coma but they went on, “Can you hear me?”
No response. They knew there would be no response and yet it still hurt.
Whumptober, Day 17
once again i had to stop and move on, I got bombarded to school work and am currently struggling to get caught up
It had been almost a week. A week of Whumpee being free from Whumper. A week of staying in the hospital. A week of the nurses trying to get their collar off. And a week of whumpee firmly refusing to take off their collar. The collar was made of dark brown leather with once sharp edges now worn smooth, a thick buckle against their throat. Whrumpee's fingers often drifted up to the leather and rubbed it to soothe themself. Though, it would usually end with Whumpee wincing and dropping their hand back down. today caretaker came into Whumpee's hospital room, settling down into a chair next to Whumpee. "Whumpee? Sweetie?" Caretaker asked with a soft, warm tone, "We need to talk about that collar of yours"

Whumptober, Day 11
this one is short but I like it :)
Animal trap, no.1
Whumpee lashed their tail furiously. They had been stuck in this stupid trap, a cage made of wire, for hours. No one had come to see their trap hadn't caught prey but Whumpee. However, when Whumpee saw the look in Whumper's eyes they would regret ever wishing someone would come for them. because the look in Whumper's eyes made it clear to Whumpee that it wasn't a mistake,
Whumpee was the prey.
