In 1973 on the New Jersey Turnpike there was a smog accident, a pile-up that killed 9, injured 39, and involved 66 vehicles. The accident began at 11:20 pm and continued to 2:45 am. One car after another kept crashing into the smog-covered accident site.

2020-11-20(fri) 江古田 Cafe Flying Teapot “pile-up with Wataru Yamashita” 高橋直康(b) 須郷史人(dr) with 山下渉(g, vlc) 先日のpile-up、後半の映像。前半が1時間近く演奏していたので、後半は短めに、ということで20分弱になりました。前半でやりきった感は少しあったので、少々難しい面もあり、自分自身の演奏を聴き返してみるともうちょっと思い切って突っ込めば良かったと、思いました。でも、なかなか楽しかったですね。山下さんは、結局このセットの最後の6分ほどしかギターを弾いていなかったのも面白いです。そのうちデュオもお願いしてみたいと思っています。ご本人にはまだ話してませんが。
