Hear me out, pilot radioapple makes more sense than the show versions of their characters. Pilot Alastor enjoys watching other sinners fail and suffer. While both versions of Lucifer hates sinners, Pilot Lucifer’s disdain towards his daughter and her hotel would be at the forefront because how dare his own daughter believe in the idea of redemption for sinners? Lucifer would probably soften up to Alastor, despite him being a sinner, because Alastor could not give one shit about the hotel and really wants it to fail. Alastor has his talkative, jolly, radio persona and Lucifer is prideful but also has a dramatic flair himself, just like Alastor does. Alastor could be attracted to the fact that Lucifer embodies sin and rebellion, his prideful ego being the cherry on top. Lucifer is also the ultimate torturer and tempter, along with taking the title of being the ultimate accuser. Accusing everyone else but never looking inward.

Lucifer would slowly start warm up to Alastor because they both hate the hotel and want it to fail. Lucifer, being the angel of the music, would find common ground with Alastor in music too. Sure, they’d annoy the shit of each other but not nearly as much as they do in the show. Pilot Al would have some respect for Lucifer, again, this is the first ever higher being to rebel against God. Lucifer, being so disconnected due to his hatred for humanity, could find his “friendship” with Alastor to be a guilty pleasure. Originally, Alastor was just a tool to use against Charlie and planned on deceiving Alastor whether it be through friendship or a deal where Alastor loses something or everything. But, being isolated takes a toll on anyone, even higher beings. Alastor wasn’t just mere entertainment anymore to him. Despite that, they’d both be in denial and things would get extremely messy. Prideful ego’s who see emotion as weak and refusing to admit “defeat” but eventually, giving into each other because they’re both selfish and both want each other. True toxic old man yaoi where selfishness is the glue instead of love, lmao.
