So when Shane Smith offers the following as his most recent artist’s statement:

Preachin' to the choir, just a liar vyin' for retention.

My supervisor had me fill out a pilot project grant application back in like September. I had completely forgotten about it until yesterday when we were informed that we won the grant. This is my first major grant and it is so exciting. It makes me even more motivated to collect my data and become proficient in Matlab/afni/python/bash/fsl. It also reasures me that I am now "fundable". This grant will help me secure future scholarships and makes me more confident in my choice of persueing a career in academia. Now I'm just keeping my fingers crossed for that NSERC scholarship.
