Sutton Foster for Vanity Fair Portraits: The Tony Contenders
Q: [Hans] is hot, though. He looked good.
So me, Danna, and Kat went to Jonathan Groff’s American Songbook concert!!! i basically go on (for quite a bit) about how perfect he is. I went on for a while so if I must leave you with something, it’s this: Britney Spears/ Sondheim mash-up I’m writing these things now because the experience is so fresh in my mind but oh my god Jonathan Groff????? This was probably one of my favorite theatre going experiences I can’t even put it into words.
He opened with one of the best covers of Something’s Coming I’ve ever heard oh my god that man’s voice
BUT THEN he sang Moving Too Fast from The Last Five Years and I nearly blacked out because in my mind he is the perfect Jamie oh lord I almost had to hold onto my friend’s hand
next he sang I Got Lost In His Arms from Annie Get Your Gun and I might have or might have not teared up a little bit
and oh my gosh then he started talking about glee and about how he would have loved to have a show like that growing up. he did a medley of the songs he sang at the show but he said he needed his Lea, so he went and picked a woman from the audience, made her wear a wig and a sign that said “Lea” and sang to her
Then he sang Regretting What I Said… (A Musical Apology) which is a hilarious song that boasts the record of having the longest title ever so that was a fun one
THEN HE DID A BRITNEY SPEARS/ SONDHEIM MASH UP I don’t know how but he made it work!!!!! he even had the Britney choreos down like that man totally knows his Britney Spears (my personal favorite was I’m a Slave 4 You, which consisted of him hip thrusting while lying on the floor). and he ended the number with Being Alive!!!!!! he was so great I want him to sing that song in full tbh
Then he and his pianist did a duet to Homeward Bound which was so so beautiful and at the end he asked her to do a split. which she did because as she very well said “Jonathan is very charming” which yeah understatement.
he then went on and started talking about Looking and said that the cast was so close that some of them were there in the audience!!!! and lo and behold Frankie J. Alvarez, Murray Bartlett, and Raul Castillo were all there. and he dedicated his next song (a mash-up of A Little Respect/ Respect) to them it was so adorable
He then started talking about his obsession with Sutton Foster and showed us a huge, poster size picture of himself and her back from when he met her in 2004 HE WAS A BABY and he said he’s going to send it to her lol
he then mentioned that Michael Mayer (who directed Spring Awakening) was in the audience, and that he was the man who pretty much changed his life. And then he sang Left Behind, which is his favorite song from the show.
He finally closed the show with a beautiful rendition of Pure Imagination he was just so perfect I’m so glad I had the chance to see this concert it was really amazing and went far beyond what I expected he’s such a talented performer and a total sweetheart.
Also his family and Lea’s dad were in the audience as well which I thought was really cute.
anywhooo this is really long omg if you read the entire thing I applaud you this was mostly so I could remember as much as I could myself but yeah bottom line Jonathan Groff is one of the cutest and most talented guys around what a prince *u*

samee! I was expecting fireworks or something when they reunited from the way everyone was acting but oh well I guess
The season feels slightly fast paced and it's weirding me out
because... like, it has double the episodes.
I think Jeff got a little greedy putting two major story arcs in the season
pineapplefreddie answered your question: okay so i need to rewatch the episode but like...
well at the end of 306, in the bus, ethan tells scott and stiles that he’s “pretty sure that derek’s still alive"
That's true, okay, so it did happen off screen. I'm side eying whoever made the choice that something that drove multiple characters to violent acts could be handled in a one off line but I'm a tad bit reassured
yay
