Here's a lesser known Gravity Falls song for this 4th of July.
Composed by Neil Cicierega, Pines 2016 was a campaign song made to promote The Stanchurian Candidate episode in 2015. It's one of the few songs Neil composed that actually was officially used by the show.
The song wasn't used in the show itself, but a tie in website created as a campaign page for Grunkle Stan by Mabel. The site is still up to this day!

Last year there had been a fear the website would go down, as its domain was set to expire. However thankfully, TheMysteryofGF owns the site these days and it is likely therefore to remain up for a very long time to come. It's a piece of GF history we can still enjoy!
Also fun fact; the song briefly became semi lost media when Neil's upload became private after YouTube privated all unlisted YT videos made before 2017.

And yes, Neil did use footage from Richard Nixon's 1972 campaign in the background of that song!
