Happy Valentine's Day, Barbie!

There are more Valentine's Day Barbies than I could hope to put in a single masterpost - at least if I didn't want people to unfollow en masse.

Some people have tried to create videos around Every Barbie in this theme, but I'm not 100% sure it's comprehensive. Either way, here's Beauty Inside A Box and their take.

But of course, this would be a boring post if I just linked to another post. Here's a few of my personal favourites!

I really like I :pink_heart: Valentine's Day Barbie from 2006 mostly because of the little bear on the keychain that she comes with. (Note that if you search for this Barbie, one of the Barbies that comes up in the image search is a NSFW customisation that I find quite entertaining but will not repost.)

Sentimental Valentine was one of three Hallmark Valentine's Day Barbies (because of course Hallmark was going to do a Valentine's Day Barbie collection!) and my personal favourite from the collection. She has a Victorian aesthetic - according to the box text, this Barbie canonically represents Valentine's Day in 1830.

XXXOOO Barbie I think is really cute. I like her sequined top - it reminds me of a LOT of sequined clothes I had in around the late 90s. Every single dance costume I had was made of this material.

A special shoutout to Valentine Date Barbie from 1997 who, unboxed, would look like a Christmas Barbie rather than a Valentine's Barbie.

She is just wearing a Santa dress.

And of course, the (generally disappointing) Holiday Hostess Collection had a crack at a Valentine Barbie. She's managing to serve despite my general disappointment with the collection. (Why is her box so boring though! Give that woman something besides a plain red background!)

Worth noting that Mattel does not do Valentine's Day Barbies anymore -- or at least, hasn't done in several years -- but as of right now Mattel is advertising several dolls as part of a Valentine's Day collection on their website. Included among their numbers are the Pink Collection and the Rewind collection.

This has nothing to do with Valentine's Day, but she is pink.
