Sparkling Wine-Soaked Strawberry Shortcake

@kajeaynart and I have been on a roll with our next gen lately, so have a new and improved Miss Sparkling Rose.  So for the record Rosie was first created along with Freedom Blossom (Guardian and Lilyfeather’s daughter) back when I was still doing shitty traditional art on the first shitty version of my shitty blog for a crackbaby meme. Here is her first version. She then became a real official baby common to our “family verse” and I drew her at the wonky beginnings of my digital art along with Freedom once again, you can see her here. 

So I redeisgned her yesterday and I’m literally obsessed with her I’m not ashamed to say that she’s gorgeous okay. But now here’s a bit of story for her as we’re probably gonna do a lot of nextgen shit these days.  More under the cut !

Sparkling Rose is the daughter of Cerise and Flora, well kind of. They’re not together or anything, but shit happens ya know.  Like finding a helpless egg while having a casual walk like they often do as the great friends they are. 

A changeling egg. 

 When they first found it, the girls totally lost their shit. What to do with it? They couldn’t just let it here, it was still an innocent egg with an innocent baby inside after all, no matter the buggy abomination it would turn out to be. They took the egg with them and hid it for a few days in order to think about what they should do with it. The egg soon started to drain them to exhaustion- because this thing needs love to hatch and will need even more love to grow up.  In the end, they decided to talk about it to their friends and they gladly all together took the responsibility of taking care of the egg and then raising the child. All together it was much easier to provide Rosie the love she needed, and she was raised happily by everyone. She has so many daddies and mummies, she never starved as a child. Her pony appearance is directly inspired by the ones who raised her, but she took more of Cerise’s and Flora’s traits as they were the first presences she felt back when she was inside of her egg and have always been such mother hens to her. Unlike Flora, she isn’t scared of flashing the bright sugar skull look no matter how much ponies look at her. She very much inherited utter fabulousness from Cerise.   Even in bug form, she has never looked like the dark buggy and is a big and healthy colorful bug that I might design someday I’m just so bad at designing changelings tbh lmao. 

As an adult, she becomes a famous and influential super model, which allows her to feed on her admirers’ love without draining anyone as well as blossoming as she’s always been meant to be under the spotlight. Her changeling nature is obviously a secret, but maybe in the future when relationships between ponies and changelings improve she’ll make a big reveal.
