Splash Into Africa
I just love going out to events that require dressing up and looking really pretty and girly , it would really be nice to have more dressing up opportunities.
A few weeks I attended an African print swimwear launch, I honestly had soo much to do prior the launch that I actually forgot to get myself anything to wear.
I was in super panic mode trying to find something that would look young, modern, classy and African inspired...but eventually a sista came up with this look.
Someone should have actually warned me about the head scarf though, I took a decade trying to perfect the ‘effortless’ look....WAAAY TOO MUCH EFFORT if you ask me.
Fun fact: The head scarf is actually a piece of fabric left behind from a custom made maternity dress that my mom wore when she was still expecting me.
Crop tops usually intimidate me but with this look I felt like everything just fell into place, the black wide leg pants and that turtle neck crop top. The bag is a DIY from ages ago.
The blue bangles are also a DIY project from not so long ago, the wooden ones were custom made for me as a present for my 18th birthday (thanks mama).
I never wear huge rings so this was a step out of my comfort zone to actually wear two in one day on one had. I just love the one on my index.
...and then I was off for the night
