Heather Thomas (Sept. 8, 1957-); American film and television actress, self-help author and philanthropist. This is one of the many, but not final production, pictures from the 1982 Dick Zimmerman photoshoot -- known as the pink bikini hot tub photoshoot. The poster that was marketed from the photoshoot became one of the most popular actress/celebrity pin-up posters of the 1980s. In some ways the 80s decade shared the Cheesecake pin-up popularity with the classic Hollywood studio system (30s - late 50s) -- A-List actresses and hopeful Starlets all posed for studio publicity departments or contract photography studios (some in swimsuits, casual wear, evening gowns, etc.). However, in the 1980s the studio era, of full control over the image of an actress was long gone -- an actress could contract, directly, with a marketing company or photographer to pose for a poster and have it marketed to hundreds of retailers throughout America. Heather Thomas is well known for playing the role of Jody Banks on the action comedy The Fall Guy, from 1981 to 1986 (112 episodes); especially well regarded is the opening credit sequence where Jody Banks wears a blue string bikini, as she walks through Western style swinging doors. Ms. Thomas was featured in the 80s teen Fantasy comedy, Zapped! (1982). Heather Thomas retired from acting, despite her popularity, with less than 30 screen credits; she lives with her second husband and raises her family away from the lights of Hollywood.
