once again thinking about the fact minos knew to use percy against nico in botl, somehow knew that he could get nico back into the labyrinth by saying percy needed him, that percy jackson was the key to manipulating a grief stricken, lonely 11/12 year old

and that it worked. that nico did go back for percy. and even without minos he does it again (the styx, battle of manhattan etc.)

and that percy does the same for nico countless times. constantly showing up for each other even if its not perfect but they're two teenagers in the middle of wars, of course it's not going to be perfect

and that neither of them know or talk about it. two boys who clearly care so much for each other but don't realise to the full extent just how far the other would go for them...

truly the greatest friendship dynamic is a friend that can't concisely summarize any media they've ever watched/read/played/listened to but desperately needs to talk to someone about it and a friend that is never going to watch/read/play/listen to said media but is more than happy to listen to the first friend explain every detail of it and all of their opinions

I think will should have a casual crush on percy and that's actually what he bonded with nico over in the infirmary after boo

will (looking out the infirmary window): percy has no right looking that good when doing something so stupid

nico: *hums in agreement*

will (turning to nico): what?

you ever think about that fact poseidon has a connection to the underworld in terms of greek mythology and what that means in terms of percy & nico's relationship? because I sure do

the first time nico surprise crashes in percy's room after shadow travelling he steals one of percy's hoodies and climbs into his bed

and when percy discovers this sight, nico wrappee in blue and face pushed into percy's pillow as he sleeps, it breaks percy's brain so hard it takes annabeth flicking him in the head to return him back to earth and this is a fact she (and grover who was also there) will never let percy live down

(nico pretends to not be affected when he finds out later on but there's a little blush to his cheeks as he tries to hide his face in percy's hood)

what if jason pretended to be bad at mythomagic just so he has an excuse to bond with nico?

he wasn't lying the first time, he didn't know how to play, but the memories came back of being a kid in his cohorts barracks as nico began to explain

jason's just happy to listen to nico talk. he seems lighter, more his age, and he hasn't heard nico say this much in one go before as he carefully teaches him the rules. he's fine looking a little stupid if it means he gets to sit there with him (even if nico's blunt praises make his chest hurt for some reason)

one day jason mucks up on accident, plays such a bad move that nico laughs at him, and jason's chest bursts with the sound

oh. I think I'm falling for nico...

thinking about either a resurrected or didn't die luke and a post-tartarus percy sharing a joint in the woods at chb

luke's been disappearing off ever since he returned and the smell always lingered on his clothes. so, when a beaten down, hurt, angry percy comes back he follows luke one day because, as much as percy doesn't really want to admit it, luke's the only one that'll understand how he feels in that moment

(and if their gazes linger on each others mouths and bodies shuffle closer together as the joint burns down then that's their little secret)
