Dune Knucker

Hey all, I still create pipecleaner creatures! It’s just most of the things i make are on the smaller side, more akin to doodles that I don’t feel are all worth posting.

That said, I’ve got a few cool things to share! Got this big chonky fella. I had to really reinforce him around the shoulders where the coils get thick but he moves great and I’m so happy with how his armor plates look.

Knuckers as a whole are rarely seen outside of their preferred wetter climate. There are no species adapted to the frigid northern or southern climes and the number of species that can bear to live outside their native swamps and wetlands can be counted on one’s fingers. Most unexpected of these species is the Dune Knucker, a hearty species adapted to the arid heat of the eastern deserts. How it got there is a mystery still being unraveled but it seems to survive well enough. It spends much of its time buried beneath the sand conserving energy, emerging at dawn and dusk to hunt whatever it can detect with its keen sense of smell. When it tracks down its prey it charges through the loose sand much like its wetland cousins swim through the water and delivers a single venomous bite to down its prey. They are considered one of the greatest dangers to travelers in the desert after the threat of heatstroke and dying of thirst.
