So I love the trope of making a deal with the devil and I love fiddle music, but I didn't previously have any cover of this song on my playlist. What did it take for me to change that fact? Apparently I'm a simple creature sometimes cause: SWITCHING THE PRONOUNS! I basically added this song the moment I realised the devil in this cover goes by "she" and so does Johnny (despite no name change, oh boy do I love some joyful genderfuckery!) The imagery just immediately gets so much better! (Also bagpipes. I mean, come on, how could I resist?)
