First of all, happy birthday! I hope it’s a great one!!!
In all honesty, it is very difficult for me to explain how much you have inspired me. I have had my share of challenges in life. I battled depression and anxiety for almost half my life and every day is still an ongoing fight. Even simple things like getting out of bed can be a struggle for me. But, I have found inspiration to keep me trying. You.
When I saw an interview of yours where you talked about your anxiety I felt so much less alone. The way you talked about brain noise really resonated with me. I tried to explain to people how it was and I could never explain it like that. It has always been hard to deal with, but what you spoke about with the ‘shhh’ really helped me a lot. It helps me every day.
If it wasn’t for you I don’t think I would have finished my last two semesters when I was without my medication. I thought about quitting, but instead got through it with your help. Also, recently I had overcome self-harm with your help. It has been seven weeks now and I can’t be more grateful. Watching your interviews and movies help a lot especially when I get into a bad depressive episode. My favorite movies of yours are Puncture, The Losers, and Playing it Cool. I’m hoping to continue getting better one step at a time and I know that I have you to inspire me and to make me smile even when I don’t think I can.
Thank you for doing what you do. You truly are my hero. Once again, happy birthday and here’s to many more!!!
With much love and appreciation,
